Cookies are in the oven, the tree is decorated with lights aglow. Christmas is almost here. David, Kristia and Savannah will be here Christmas day to open presents and read the biblical account from Luke. This is our second Christmas without Bonnie and we sure miss her cheerful voice and sweet smile. After more than 57 years, I finally had to say goodbye to my dearest friend and let her go and rest until our Lord calls for all the dead in Christ to arise. What a glorious day that will be. Praise the LORD!

I thought my life was over when Bonnie went home & it has been a difficult 2 years for me; I still grieve her loss. But, God sent an angel into my life, her name is Suzanne and even though we have been friends for more than 30 years, she has became more than a friend . . . she became my wife on September 20, 2022. Suzanne Cagle became Mrs. Suzanne Edwards. God is good!

I (Suzanne) first met John & Bonnie at First Baptist Church in Salinas, California. They were leaders even then. My husband and I supported the move with them , Art & Lou Watson and others, to develop a missions sponsoring church and SVCC was developed. After my separation from Bob, I attended their community group. John & Bonnie were very instrumental in my growth in faith as mentors during those years. Their children were part of my children’s lives as babysitters. Katrina stayed with us during one of their short-term mission trips. I grew to love them and supported them in some of their mission years.

Hoping you will be blessed as you remember Jesus’ coming during this Season. His promise to return someday soon is always on our minds, as world events move so quickly toward the fulfillment of His promise . . . even so, come, Lord Jesus!!
